A wonderful urban re-generation project I am working on with Selgas Cano architects. This is carefully designed, internal and external planting for an interesting, old building opposite the Francis Crick Institute.
I designed the internal plant landscape to include the diversity of indoor plants, using the principles of my garden design practice – considering factors like heights, levels and leaf structure as if designing a garden border.
I am working very closely with the brilliant architects at Selgas Cano, who share my strong belief in biophilia – the idea that we have an innate affinity with nature and a need to interact with it. Given the long hours spent in offices, the opportunity to interact with nature is crucial to well-being.
Selgas Cano also shares other beliefs and principles close to my own heart – for example the need to plant in urban landscapes and to conserve water.
